Free School Meal Entitlement

PLEASE NOTE FROM SUMMER 2026 ALL FAMILIES WILL NEED TO RE-APPLY ANNUALLY FOR THEIR CHILD'S FREE SCHOOL MEALS PRIOR TO SEPTEMBER EACH YEAR

Children are entitled to receive free school meals if their parents or guardians receive any of the benefits below:

• Universal Credit

• Income-related Employment and Support Allowance

• Support under Part 6 of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999

• The guarantee element of Pension Credit

• Meet criteria set out in separate guidance for families with no recourse to public funds
