House System
All students are assigned to a House when they join Year 7. Houses are ‘vertical’ so that Years 7-11 are present in each House. All new year 7 students are presented with their House tie, free of charge on their first day at school.
The House system is primarily designed so that the Heads of House can track the academic and pastoral progress of the students in their House, organising interventions when they are needed.
Through the Rayner Stephens House system, students participate in a wide variety of House activities ranging from competitions in lessons to House Games Day. They are able to earn points for themselves and their House. Points are counted each half term and the winning House flag is hoisted on the school’s flagpole and remains there for the following half term.
All students wear a tie with a colour band in that identifies the House that they represent and for House competitions all students wear a wrist band in their House colour.
House Names and Icons
The four people who were chosen to be our House icons and names all have links to Greater Manchester and have all had a positive influence on society in one way or another.
Each one of these four people are superb role models and have demonstrated the values that all students and staff should aspire to show in our lives
All students and staff should be proud to represent their selected House and be proud of what their House icon has represented in their lives.
