Rayner Stephens High School Celebrates Record-Breaking GCSE Results

Rayner Stephens High School is delighted to announce an outstanding year of GCSE results, with a record number of students securing their places in college and apprenticeships. The success in English and Maths GCSEs stands out as one of the many remarkable achievements across various subjects this year.

Head of School, Martin Davies, expressed his immense pride in the students and staff, stating, "Our students have worked incredibly hard, and these results are a testament to their dedication and resilience. I have been blown away by their commitment, effort, and desire to succeed. I also want to acknowledge the unwavering support of our teachers and wider staff, who have gone above and beyond to ensure every student reaches their full potential. As a staff body, we could not be prouder of this group of young people."

Notable successes this year include the exceptional performance by the English Department, Triple Scientists, and Spanish students, among many other highlights. Additionally, the school has seen a significant number of personal outstanding achievements, further showcasing the individual efforts of the students.

Blessing is one student who excelled this year, achieving 9, 88, 7777 and 6. Blessing is going onto fellow trust academy Ashton Sixth Form College to join their XL Academy and studying Geography, History and Politics. Blessing played an integral role in life at Rayner Stephens as part of the Student Leadership Team and was hailed a role model for her peers. She commented “I’m really happy with my results, I got what I needed to be able to progress to my next steps, I worked really hard to be able to get onto the High Achievers Programme at Ashton Sixth Form College.” She added “School has been the making of me, not only did it help me achieve but it allowed my personality to shine through. Rayner Stephens gets a thumbs up from me!”

Jovi is leaving Rayner Stephens to study Maths, Biology and Accounting at Ashton Sixth Form College having excelled in both academics and extracurricular activities, consistently demonstrating dedication and hard work. He achieved 9, 8, 7777, 66. Commenting “I’m so happy with my results, I feel so proud of myself and happy I’ve been able to achieve this and progress onto my next steps. Thank you to everyone at school who has helped me get here.”

Joel who joined the school after moving to the UK from Portugal is moving onto Access Creative College where he’ll be studying Music Production, he said “It’s always been my dream to make music for a living, now that I’ve achieved the results I needed, this can become a reality. I feel like I’ve really accomplished something. I’m proud of myself and I have so many fond memories of school. Because I wasn’t born here, I had to put in a lot of work to catch up with where everyone else was, but passing my GCSEs and progressing onto college is such a huge step for me.”

"We are committed to maintaining this momentum and ensuring that every student is equipped with the skills and knowledge they need for future success," added Martin Davies.
